Museum für Urgeschichte
Did you know that there is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Canton of Zug? Take a tour of the Museum of Prehistory(s) and experience a journey through time. Archaeological finds from the canton of Zug from the Palaeolithic Age to the Early Middle Ages are presented in the permanent exhibition of the Museum of (sPrehistory(s) Zug. One focus of this collection of national importance is the pile-dwelling period. On display are finds from three UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Late Bronze Age settlement of Zug-Sumpf, and other highlights such as the Neolithic double axe from Cham-Eslen. With wooden components of a Roman mill and clay statuettes from a sanctuary, Roman Cham-Hagendorn is also represented by outstanding exhibits. Life-size scenes and figures, models and stories make the museum an experience especially for families and school classes. Everyday life in bygone eras can be reconstructed here in a particularly vivid way.
